Dear Friend:
You asked for fair pay for music creators. You told us the status quo wasn’t working for artists. And it wasn’t working for you. You demanded change.
Here it comes.
Today, Monday, April 13th at 11:00 am EDT, a bipartisan group of Congressional leaders and a huge outpouring of artists, musicians, and performers will announce new legislation in Congress: the Fair Play Fair Pay Act of 2015. This landmark reform bill would better the lives of everyone who creates music – and everyone who loves it.
Now we need to take the next step and make sure Congress passes it.
Write your Representatives now and tell them you want them to support the Fair Play Fair Pay Act.
Ask them to stand up for artists by cosponsoring this legislation today.
This new bill would end the AM/FM performance rights loophole, make all radio services pay fair market pay for all music (including pre-72 music), and streamline payments to music producers.
You asked for it. Now make it happen.
Thanks for all you do to support music,
Ted Kalo
